Emma Coolidge was the wife a Boston policeman who went to Bose Cobb’s dancehall, using the alias Mrs. Hamilton, looking for someone to murder the daughter-in-law of her former lover. Cobb sent her to private detective John Bull to see if she was on the level. When they determined she was serious, Cobb and Bull took the story to the police for their own protection.
